Choices In Life

Any change, any loss, does not make us victims.
Others can shake you, surprise you or disappoint you.
But they can't prevent you from moving on.
No matter where you are in life, no matter what your situation,
You can always do something.
On every turn of life, you will always have a choice.
And that choice can be your power.

Live fully the richness of this day

If you could experience, in a single moment, all of the things of
which you are capable, it would truly and literally overwhelm you.
If you could see, in one look, the abundance of possibilities open to you,
it would be too much to take in at one time.

Yet there is no need to take it in all at once.
There is every reason and every opportunity to savor the
goodness of life as it comes, moment by moment and day by day.
What you see in front of you right now is magnificent,
and more than enough to fill this moment.
And yet it is only a tiny glimpse of all the richness that life has to offer.
There is plenty that can be accomplished in this moment.
Make the most of it now, and the next moment will arrive
with even more possibility, even greater opportunities.
As you move through life, you can continually fill it with richness.
For every goodness you experience will stay with you, while opportunities
for even more just keep coming.
Live fully the richness of this day, and give it the best that you have.
Nurture your best possibilities, and they grow even better.

68. And your Lord revealed to the bee saying: Make hives in the mountains and in the trees and in what they build:

69. Then eat of all the fruits and walk in the ways of your Lord submissively. There comes forth from within it a beverage of many colours, in which there is healing for men; most surely there is a sign in this for a people who reflect.
70. And Allah has created you, then He causes you to die, and of you is he who is brought back to the worst part of life, so that after having knowledge he does not know anything; surely Allah is Knowing, Powerful.

71. And Allah has made some of you excel others in the means of subsistence, so those who are made to excel do not give away their sustenance to those whom their right hands possess so that they should be equal therein; is it then the favor of Allah which they deny?

Reciting two aayaat from the Book of Allaah, is better for you than two she-camels -Muslim 1/553

Uqbah Ibn Aamir (Radhi Allaahu Anhu) relates that Allah's Messenger (Peace be upon him) came out when we were in as-Suffah and said:
"Are there any of you who would wish to go every day to Buthaan or al-'Aeeq [i.e., the name of two ditches in al-Madeenah] in the early morning and return from it with two she-camels without incurring any sin or severing relations?" We [the companions] said: "We would indeed love that, O Messenger of Allah"

He (Peace be upon him) said: "Then you should go to the mosque and acquire some knowledge, or recite two aayaat from the Book of Allaah, that would be better for you than two she-camels, and three aayaat are better than three she-camels, and four aayaat are better than four she-camels, and the same for a like number of male camels" [Muslim 1/553]

Last Ten Days of Ramadan - Acts of Worship and Innovations

صلى الله عليه وسلم - used to specify the last ten days of Ramadaan with specific actions that he wouldn't practice during the rest of the month.

Actions Specific to the Last Ten of Ramadaan
The Messenger -
Amongst them: Staying up at night, it is possible that what is meant is that he would stay up the whole night, in the Hadeeth of 'Aa-ishah:

"The Messenger used to combine between sleep and prayer during the first twenty days, when that last ten came in, he would role up his sleves and tighten his Izaar." [Narrated by Ahmad]

It is also possible that what is meant is; he used to stay up the majority of the night, this opinion is supported by a Hadeeth collected by Muslim on the authority of 'Aa-ishah:

"I do not know that he ever stayed up until the morning for even one night."

Battle Of Badr - 17th Ramadan

Battle Of Badr – 17th  Ramadan 2 A.H

Compiled by Shahid Iqbal

"And indeed Allah assisted you at Badr when you were weak, so be careful (to your duty) to Allah so that you may be of the thankful ones. When you said to the believers 'Does it not suffice you that your Lord should assist you with three thousand angels sent down."  [Suratul Al Imran 3:123 & 124]

The battle of Badr was the first of the great battles of Islam. When the Prophet (sallallahu alayhi wassalam) heard the news that there was a trade caravan going to Syria from Makka under the leadership of Abu Sufyan, he sent two men to gather information about it. It was discovered that it was a large caravan in which all the Makkans had shares. The Quraysh had decided to put all their savings into it and use the profits on arms, horses and other items of war to use against the Muslims. The news was disturbing.

The Prophet (sallallahu alayhi wassalam) left Medina with 313 men, 2 horses and 70 camels to go to Badr, which was a stopping point for the caravans. The Quraysh had confiscated all the property of all the Muslims who had left Makka for Medina and the Prophet (sallallahu alayhi wassalam) therefore decided to confiscate the property of the caravan in compensation. Abu Sufyan feared an attack from the Muslims and sent a messenger to Makka telling them of his fears. On receiving the message, an army of 1000 men, 100 horses and 700 camels under the leadership of Abu Jahl left Makka to go to Badr. Meanwhile Abu Sufyan took a different route back to Makka avoiding Badr. Once he was back in Makka he called Abu Jahl but Abu Jahl was too proud and desired to crush the Muslims with his large army.

The two armies met at Badr on 17th Ramadhan 2 A.H. In the beginning as per Arab custom, single combat (one to one) took place. The famous Quraysh warriors Utbah, Shayba and Walid came to challenge three 'Ansaars' from Medina. The Quraysh refused to fight any of the 'Ansaars', demanding their 'equals' and so the Prophet (sallallahu alayhi wassalam) sent Ubayda, Hamza and Ali. The three Kuffar were killed (Ubayda was hurt).

The Quraysh grew disturbed and began attacking. When the fierce engagement grew during the battle, the Prophet (sallallahu alayhi wassalam) began to supplicate to his Lord saying, "O Allah! Should this group (of Muslims) be defeated today, You will no longer be worshipped."

This was an Islamic duty, for all victory comes from Allah. Allah revealed, "Verily, I am with you, so keep firm those who believed. I will cast terror into the hearts of those who have disbelieved." [Qur'an: 8:12]. It can also be clearly seen from the above accounts that Muhammad (sallallahu alayhi wassalam) was also mindful of his (sallallahu alayhi wassalam) other duties to Allah. Islam required him (sallallahu alayhi wassalam) not only to make du'a for victory over the Disbelievers but also for his (sallallahu alayhi wassalam) Islamic State to undertake economic, political and military actions that were in line with this objective and which he (sallallahu alayhi wassalam) performed in order to seek Allah's victory.

During the Battle of Badr, Allah, inspired to His Messenger (sallallahu alayhi wassalam), "I will help you with a thousand of the angels each behind the other in succession." [Qur'an 8:9]. The Prophet (sallallahu alayhi wassalam) rested after the strain of this revelation and then raised his head joyfully, crying, "O Abu Bakr, glad tidings are there for you, Allah's victory has approached, by Allah, I can see Gabriel on his mare in the thick of a sandstorm."

The enemies got frightened and began to retreat. Kuffar were killed including their leader Abu Jahl. 14 Muslims were martyred. The Muslims also took 70 prisoners. The prisoners were treated with kindness and some became Muslims.

In later days some of the prisoners said: "blessed be the men of Medina, they made us ride whilst they walked, they gave us wheat and bread to eat when there was little of it contenting themselves with plain dates." The rich prisoners paid ransom and were set free. Others were asked to gain their freedom by each teaching 10 Muslims to read and write. The Battle of Badr reflected the strong ideological bond between the Muslims.

Before Islam, an Arab would look down upon a black person for no other reason than the color of his skin, and tribes would fight and kill one another for decades in the name of family pride. Islam established itself so firmly within the hearts of humans that, upon declaring their allegiance to Islam they would willingly shed away all of their previous affiliations to enter into the Brotherhood of Islam. For the Muslims, the color of skin, the family name, the geographic origin, or the wealth of the individual did not matter. When the Prophet (sallallahu alayhi wassalam) began his Da'wah, he (sallallahu alayhi wassalam) established a core of leadership consisting of a Persian, a Roman, an African, people from among the Jews and Christians, and indigenous Arabs, and nothing bound them together but the idea they embraced.

This is How you fight Corruption - Right at the root - Mum turned in her London Olympics Ambassabor daughter to police for taking part in Uk riots

'Turn looting children in to police,'
says mum who reported her own
Olympic ambassador daughter for
'taking part in rioting'

A mother who turned her own daughter into police after discovering
she was allegedly involved in rioting, has urged other parents to do
 the same.

Adrienne Ives, 47, said the decision to tell detectives she had spotted
her 18-year-old Olympics ambassador daughter Chelsea taking part
in this week's riots  was 'gut-wrenching'.

The talented athlete was stripped of her role as 2012 Olympic
ambassador after being charged with burglary, violent disorder and
hurling bricks at a police car.

However, Adrienne, 47, said that she had no choice but to contact
officers.

She told the Daily Mirror: 'Any parent who loves their child should
find the courage to do what we did.'

'If parents keep their mouths shut these kids will keep rampaging
through the streets.

'As a mother, I love my daughter. It's not easy, but we hope we've done
the right thing. It was a hard decision to make but it was a decision
that any good parent would do.

These riots happen because good parents do nothing.'

Chelsea, 18, is in custody accused of taking part in the disorder
at Enfield, North London.

Mrs Ives was at home in Leytonstone, east London, on Sunday night
with her husband Roger, 54, watching the scenes of anarchy unfold
on the streets of Enfield, just six miles to the north.

'Roger and I were watching the TV news and it was absolutely sickening,'
she said. 'And then we saw our daughter. I could not believe it.
For a minute we did not know what to do.

'But then, what could normal honest parents do? How can you sit there
and see that and say, "That's OK"? We were watching people lose their
homes and businesses.

As parents we had to say, "She can't get away with that".

Detained: Chelsea Ives is seen arriving at Westminster Magistrates Court overnight

Mrs Ives told The Sun: 'We've no regrets and would do the same again.
My children have always been taught right from wrong. We were not being
brave, it's what any right-thinking person would have done.

Comment :

All corruption we see is because there were/are Parents
who did not have the courage to discipline their children
when their children needed them to be strict.
(Right from Dhritarashtra to the ones who spoil their kids)
Most parents scold children only when they get pissed off,
and not when the child needs to be scolded.
This of course teaches the child to suck up to the parent
and keep him in good humour and this lesson is carried
well into adulthood where it is refined into corruption and
bribery
This MOM single handedly has done more for fighting
corruption than any movement ever will accomplish

This is the root where we need to strike
This is how it is to be done

Everything else is glamour and vanity.
This is a MOTHER
This is who I bow down to.
I hope this lesson is taken by all who wish
to fight corruption. We do this for one generation
and all subsequent generations are spared the
scourge for EVER.

Put an End to Negativity

"Awareness is the power you need to take control."
Throughout each day you're constantly talking to yourself.
It's completely normal. We all do it.
In fact we do it so much that our subconscious mind
accepts what we say as truth.
This acceptance forms the beliefs that we have of ourselves,
and how we perceive that others see us.
If your self-talk is negative, your beliefs about yourself will be also.
On the flip side, if your self-talk is positive and self-empowering,
so is the image and the beliefs you have of yourself.
Take time today and tune in to how you're speaking to yourself.
Identify precisely what beliefs you're forming based on your self-talk
and bring them to your conscious mind.
Question them, scrutinize them, and become familiar with
what are they telling you.
The awareness gained by doing this is the first major step toward
an empowerment that will affect everything in your life!

Quranic Wisdom

Image Detail

12. And certainly We gave wisdom to Luqman, saying: Be grateful to Allah. And whoever is grateful, he is on!y grateful for his own soul; and whoever is ungrateful, then surely Allah is Self-sufficient, Praised.

13. And when Luqman said to his son while he admonished him: O my son! do not associate aught with Allah; most surely polytheism is a grievous iniquity--

14. And We have enjoined man in respect of his parents-- his mother bears him with faintings upon faintings and his weaning takes two years-- saying: Be grateful to Me and to both your parents; to Me is the eventual coming.

15. And if they contend with you that you should associate with Me what you have no knowledge of, do not obey them, and keep company with them in this world kindly, and follow the way of him who turns to Me, then to Me is your return, then will I inform you of what you did--

16. O my son! surely if it is the very weight of the grain of a mustard-seed, even though it is in (the heart of) rock, or (high above) in the heaven or (deep down) in the earth, Allah will bring it (to light); surely Allah is Knower of subtleties, Aware;

17. O my son! keep up prayer and enjoin the good and forbid the evil, and bear patiently that which befalls you; surely these acts require courage;

18. And do not turn your face away from people in contempt, nor go about in the land exulting overmuch; surely Allah does not love any self-conceited boaster;

19. And pursue the right course in your going about and lower your voice; surely the most hateful of voices is braying of the asses.
