Rejection for offer of cash compensation by the Relatives of Fahim

Like most Pakistanis, I am proud of my country and people. But last night, when  I heard the interview of Waseem, brother of  Fahim, who was killed in broad daylight on a Lahore street, my pride knew no bounds. He rejected offhand the offer for cash compensation and demanded justice for the killer. His sister also demanded that law be allowed to take its own course and she is only interested in seeing the criminal punished. The way he killed three Pakistanis on a busy Lahore road, indicates possibility of many such murders in the far flung places of Waziristan, away from media. An honest and responsible police superintendent would have used the remand of 5 days to extract information from the murderer. His mission in Pakistan, people who are his accomplices and his supervisor to whom he reported about his murderous mission.
I am so happy and proud of fellow Pakistanis, residents of a small town, who rejected offer for monetary  compensation with the contempt it deserved. Not too long ago  a US senator had thundered in the senate, these Pakistanis need not be paid much as they sell their mothers for 50 dollars. It was the era of  coward and  shameless general  Musharraf who failed to take the US government and the senator to task for this insulting remark.  60% of fuel US army uses in  Afghanistan is routed through Pakistan. Crucial food and  arms supplies are also supplied through Pakistan. In such situation no US army general can afford to upset Pakistani people. That lost chance has now been made good by flat rejection of compensation offer,
We may not be rich, but we are a proud nation. No Pakistani will ever accept money for the life of his relative. Blood for blood is not only our tradition by sacred scriptural  law. Shariah law takes precedence over common law. After all  Pakistan is an Islamic Republic. Another positive aspect is rejection of those brokers of  the foreign forces who had undertaken to  buy the freedom of  the murderer, Raymond Davis, namely Asif Ali Zardari and his coteries.

Common Pakistanis will do their best to help the family of persons
brutally murdered by Raymond Davis.
